CubitronII fibre discs

If speed of work is important to you, then CubitronII from 3M is usually the best choice. 3M™ Cubitron™ II technology is a real revolution in the world of abrasives. It is by far the most powerful abrasive mineral on the market. The minerals have a pointed shape and are oriented vertically in the direction of the workpiece to penetrate deep into the metal. The minerals wear evenly and retain their triangular shape. This guarantees limited heat build-up and a cost-effective service life.

The right backing pad and machine for 3M Cubitron II fibre discs

Because this fibre disc requires relatively high pressure to perform optimally, a hard backing pad is important. Therefore, always order a matching backing pad with Cubitron II fibre discs. Due to the pressure required, we recommend using a pneumatic angle grinder rather than an electric machine.

3M 982C and 3M 987C CubitronII fibre discs

The 3M™ 982C Cubitron™ IIfibre discs have been specially developed for working on steel and are particularly suitable for the most demanding applications, such as removing weld seams, creating fusion zones and chamfering for welding. They are used in foundries, shipbuilding, welding and construction companies, metal construction, etc.

The 3M™ 987C Cubitron II fibre disc is ideal for applications on heat-sensitive metals such as stainless steel, aluminium and nickel alloys. The 3M 987C fibre disc penetrates deeper into the metal and cuts very consistently and quickly through the toughest metals throughout its entire service life.

Available in 3 different diameters: 115, 125 and 178 mm and grit sizes 36+, 60+ and 80+

Other brands of fibre discs

In certain cases, a lower quality fibre disc, which is often cheaper, will suffice. We offer you a wide choice in terms of quality and price. For example, we stock the brands Klingspor, VSMand Deerfos. The latter may be less well known, but is definitely worth trying. In any case, make sure you choose a disc that is suitable for the material you want to work on. We are happy to advise you.
