Deburring discs

Deburring discs can be used to process various materials. As the name suggests, this disc is mainly used for removing burrs and breaking edges. It is important that a deburring disc continues to perform until it is completely worn out.

Deburring discs can be used on various materials such as different types of steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals and titanium. Make sure you use the right deburring disc for the material you want to work on. As a rule of thumb, the harder the material, the softer the abrasive disc bond should be.
The type of work also plays a role. Corners and burrs have sharp edges and therefore easily pull the abrasive grain out of the bond. For this reason, the use of a hard bond is recommended. If flat surfaces or small weld seams need to be worked on, a disc that is too hard will quickly become blunt. In this case, choose a medium to soft disc bond. We are of course happy to advise you.

3M™ Cubitron™ 3 Grinding discs are made from 3M Precision Shaped Ceramic Grain. They are rigid, bonded grinding discs that cut quickly and last a long time. Our grinding discs are specially designed for stainless steel, mild steel and aerospace alloys.
For a grinding disc that outperforms its competitors in terms of cutting performance and service life, choose a 3M™ Cubitron™ 3 Grinding Disc. Our grinding discs feature 3M Precision Shaped Grain, which delivers a cool, extra-sharp cut long after competing wheels have worn out. The abrasive grains are pre-shaped into triangular abrasive grains (3M Precision Shaped Grain) that cut through metal like a knife, rather than grooving or ploughing like traditional abrasives. These points constantly sharpen themselves as small pieces break off, allowing them to cut through material extremely quickly. This limits the development of frictional heat, resulting in fewer heat-related stress cracks and discolouration. The recessed centre allows you to grind at any angle without damaging the surrounding surface. Our deburring discs are bonded with rigid resin, 7 mm thick and useful for removing weld seams from inner corners. With these discs, you must use a protective cap that fits the size of the disc. The maximum speed of the deburring discs must be higher than or equal to the maximum speed of the grinding machine used.
