Metaaltechniek carries a wide range of sanding sheets and sanding strips. The sanding strips can be used for both hand and machine applications and are therefore available with or without holes. For hand applications, we recommend using a hand block, which makes working considerably easier because it allows you to apply even pressure. The blocks also offer more grip.
The sanding strips and sanding sheets are available in all sizes. If you cannot find the size you require on our website, please contact us. We will then have the sanding strips custom-made for you.
Applications
Different grades of sanding strips are available for different applications. Sanding strips of the 3M 255P Hookit Fre-Cut grade are made from the new generation of sanding material, coated with aluminium oxide minerals, open coated and equipped with a 3M Hookit fastening system. The 255P is a flexible sanding paper treated with a special anti-clog coating. These sanding strips are used for finishing various metals, wood, fillers, primers and removing paint layers. This grade performs well on round and flat surfaces.
For more profiled parts, use the 230U or 235U Fre-Cut with anti-clogging coating. This is a slightly heavier sandpaper.
IMFF and diamond sheets
In addition to the usual grades, we also have IMFF and diamond sheets in our range. IMFF stands for Imperial Micro Finishing Film. These self-adhesive sanding sheets with aluminium oxide grain are used when a high-quality finish is required. The diamond hand sanding blocks are coated with a layer of flexible diamond abrasive material and are ready for immediate use. These diamond sanding blocks are used for working on flat surfaces or finishing the edges of glass panels, ceramics and hard stone types.
Scotch Brite hand pads.
The last group of sanding strips and sheets are the Scotch Brite hand pads. An all-rounder in the field of cleaning, finishing and deburring. Their most important characteristics are their aggressiveness and flexibility, which allows them to be used on all types of metal. Scotch Brite hand sheets are used for improving bonds, cleaning, finishing and deburring.
